Nyobolt

Cambridge is an excellent centre of innovation, working as a catalyst to decarbonise new industries which have previously been ignored or too difficult to electrify. With world renowned scientists, engineers, and environmental specialists working together, Nyobolt has been able to bring novel battery materials out of the lab and into customer applications which are solving real-world electrification problems, years ahead of the competition.

Co-founder and CEO, Nyobolt

Nyobolt is poised to make a substantial contribution towards a low-carbon economy through its next-generation energy storage solutions.

Founded in 2019 by Professor Dame Clare Grey and Dr Sai Shivareddy based on University of Cambridge research, Nyobolt has developed ultra-fast battery technology which enables charging in minutes and not hours.

Its aim is to overcome charge anxiety for electric vehicles and enable electrification across other power-intensive sectors such as AI data centres, warehouse robotic automation and heavy-duty offroad trucking.

In 2023, Nyobolt showcased its technology in a concept EV that charges to 80% in under five minutes.

Nyobolt has secured a total of $100 million investment to date, supporting the launch of its first anode material pilot plant and applications engineering lab in the UK, expansion of its US battery engineering facility, and manufacturing scale-up across Asia. Nyobolt begins serial production of ultra-fast charging solutions this year with its systems already deployed in robotic-defined warehouses around the U.S. 2026 will see an expansion of the company’s product line into AI Data Centres, with heavy-duty vehicles and passenger EVs introduced as the company continues to scale production, assisting customers in solving critical power and uptime challenges.
