Cambridge Enterprise backed our vision to decarbonise industry faster and hit global emissions targets before 2030. As a University of Cambridge spinout working with the Engineering Department, Judge Business School, and Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership – the whole ecosystem unlocked the momentum to turn science into real impact.
Dr. Spencer Brennan
CEO and Founder of Neutreeno
The startup was founded by Dr Spencer Brennan (Cavendish Laboratory) and Prof Jonathan Cullen (Department of Engineering), joined by a team of scientists and engineers determined to translate climate science into action. From the start, the Cambridge ecosystem rallied behind them – with programme support from Judge Business School, funding from Cambridge Enterprise Ventures, and membership in the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s Canopy innovation hub.
Neutreeno’s platform helps organisations decarbonise supply chains at scale and speed. Their proprietary process models bypass traditional carbon accounting, requiring 90% less data from clients and suppliers. In weeks, not months, they create actionable decarbonisation insights across thousands of operations – pathways that cut emissions and unlock efficiency gains. Aeronautics manufacturer AeroEdge became 80.5% more energy efficient, saved €1.6m annually, and cut 41.4% of total emissions. Today, Neutreeno works with enterprises and household names to prove what they’ve believed from day one: sustainability isn’t a cost – it’s a competitive advantage.
